The Milwaukee Community Service Corps is a non-profit vocational training organization providing employment, education and life skills training to young adults in Milwaukee.
Put simply the Corps educates, employs and empowers Milwaukee's young people.

The Corps educates, empowers and employs Milwaukee's young people, and helps them to:
1. Complete their high school diploma or get a GED,
2. Earn a wage through direct employment in community conservation work,
3. Gain valuable career skills through hands on learning in trades and light industry.

The Corps targets low-income young adults ages 16-24 in need of employment and educational assistance. Our programs help young adults get through school, earn a decent wage and prepare for a future career.

The Corps programs allow young adults the opportunity to complete school while gaining valuable career experience through hands-on employment training. Corps members work on a number of community conservation projects including: the construction of low-income housing, manufacturing of rain barrels, Milwaukee River clean up, installation of solar panels and removal of lead paint and other hazardous wastes.

According to a December 2008 study by the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, almost 7 in 10 African American males ages 16-24 are currently unemployed. Without dramatic and immediate steps to address this issue Milwaukee will face a severe workforce crisis and crippling economic consequence associated with crime and public assistance for these youth.
